performing live in the studio
the brand new track
"the friday song"
i have had less than 48 hours to prep for this,
so, let's hope i don't blow it all away.
speaking of jackFM,
greg burke from the show,
has made a small slideshow advert of the store,

on at 8 am.

oh no,
"posh, poor, & middleclass BRITS"
first it was jackFM,
now it's the above titled documentary
filmed by Maggy Fellman
an American director
who is casting her own wry & personal view
on the british class system.
& i'm in it.
hmmm,
it is being premiered at the
OXDOX film festival
on 24th april
at the penultimate picture palace
right here in oxford.
i have not seen it,
so, i cannot say anything about it,
except, oh my god.
i didn't know it would be seen here.
bugger,
still, she says alfie, steals the show.
becky & i will watch, (maybe)
from behind our hands.
the trouble i get myself into.
if you would like to listen
to the podcast, from the
morning glory breakfast show
on jackFM,
please go to the events page.
(maybe it should be on the "chat with" page?)
hope you enjoy it.
hey, me on JACK FM

wednesday 14th april.

following on from the oasis story,
it only seems that noel smashed up
liam's guitar,
the guitar which was mine,
& i sold to nicole, so she
could give it to him as a prezzie.
now where are those pictures?
29/08/09
well, well,
oasis huh?
hmmm,
it's one thing to fall out,
but i draw the line when you smash a guitar.
which one?
anyway,
slowly getting round to a whole new website.
it's been an amazing year so far,
& there's more to come.
alfie is just great,
changing daily,
he's desperate to walk,
he'll drag himself to his feet,
holding onto something,
& then just stand there,
pleased as punch.
4 teeth already.
he is so much fun.
he & becky have made my life
so much more than it ever was before.
there's a good interview with me in a new oxford publication,
you can read it on the
chat with page.
this magazine is really great,
alot of time has been put into it.
anyway,
i'm off, later.l
20/08/09
wow,
not written much up here
for a long time.
well, i'm recovering from
my surgery, slowly,
i am doing a bit of work in the store,
just a few hours
on tuesdays, thursdays & saturdays.
it is amazing how quickly i get tired,
i mean really exhausted.
becky & alfie have
been away for a few days,
great for them to get a break,
i couldn't travel so,
i've been here on my lonesome,
catching up with some
photography & music stuff.
trying to publish both
a book & my album.
anyway, that's all for now.
join me on
my space or facebook
to check on music
& other stuff.
29/07/09
08.43
just having breakfast after
a long night,
hardly slept, lots of pain.
anyway, the OP is over.
it took 2 1/2 hours
1 hour more than expected,
there were a few trickier issues than
first thought, but
my surgeon is very happy with
the way it went.
alfie & becky
are on their way in,
so, life is great.
i'll probably be out of work for
2/3 weeks tho',
lauren & denise are
looking after the store.
20/07/09
special notice,
on 28th july 2009
i'll be going into hospital
for an operation on my back.
since last september,
i've had a disc that has shifted & is
pushing on a nerve.
it has caused sciatica,
& has led to me being on very strong painkillers
since then.
i have tried to avoid this, but i cannot.
at the moment i am not even able to
pick up alfie, or bath him.
becky has been looking after all of us
& without her, i don't know how i would have coped this long.
but the doctors have spoken, & if
i don't get it done now,
the damage will be too severe.
i've lost a lot of feeling in my left leg as it is.
i'll be out of action for a long while,
maybe 3 months till
i'm fully recovered.
ouch!

Dear All
This document has been drawn up to show the costs, incomings and outgoings, for any concerned parties. My work on this has been ongoing since December ’08, started because I thought the mural would be a good thing for Jericho and its occupants in these times.
The original estimates for the outgoing costs were significantly higher than the final figures. Firaj’s (Blue Amigo) willingness to get involved, brought down the costs considerably, meaning we have come in under budget.
Any remaining monies, after all outgoings have been paid, will be donated to the St Barnabus School art department, unless there are any objections. Please rest assured I am making no money from this project.
This project was set up as a way to promote Jericho as a community with as many businesses as I was able to speak to.
Those who have been left out, were done so in error, or through lack of time, or the inability to speak with the relevant parties. My apologies for that.
Those buildings described as “artists choice” are exactly that, included by Stuart for the purpose of colour, life & to show the fun of Jericho, or those whom we assumed would wish to be a part of the mural, but never spoke with.
The mural has been created as a piece of art, hence the use of canvas. Stuart works in watercolour, which could not be attached directly to the boarding. By creating it on A2 paper, then scanning and printing it, it goes through a whole artistic process. This can be replicated should anything unforeseen happen to it.
It is expected that the mural can stay up for about 2 years, which is an excellent advertisement for our businesses, as well as brightening up a derelict building and creating a wonderfully welcoming landmark to Jericho.
Since completing the mural many businesses have approached me who would have liked to have been involved, I am trying to find a way in which to address this and include them. These include Art Jericho (space found, awaiting final logo & colouring), The Mind Shop and Angels.
If you have any objections or opinions regarding anything to do with this project, please contact me at Cowboymod on 0186545237.
A huge thank you to all those that have contributed to this project, which has brightened up our little part of oxford.
All the best & many thanks
James B Salter
